POC Carl Beeman (719)251-9911. -Secondary Animal Shelter-Additional location established for animal sheltering at the Las Animas County Fair Grounds 2200 North Linden Avenue, Trinidad, Co (NOTE: DO NOT take animals to this location without first speaking with Carl Beeman) -VOLUNTEERS wishing to assist in animal sheltering and care please call Carl Beeman 719-251-9911 LOST OR ABANDONED ANIMALS Contact Mr. Carl Beeman, CSU Extension at 719-251-9911. Animals are being sheltered at the Huerfano County Fairgrounds. Please report animals in need of rescue. LIVESTOCK EVACUATION If you have livestock in the area West of Sheep Mountain (County Road 542), North of Highway 160 to Highway 69. The Incident Management Team has recommended that you evacuate livestock from these areas. Safety in this area is of concern at this time and due to fire weather forecast, fire activity is expected to increase. There will be escorts for livestock owners from the Gardner Community Center 8am-12pm 7/8. You must coordinate this escort with Captain Lyons at 719-248-5555, prior to arriving at the Gardner Community Center . If you choose to not evacuate your livestock, to enter the area to feed and water your livestock that was not evacuated, you will have to arrange an escort prior to entry.
