Adoption - Alamosa CountySeeks to obtain permanent placements for children in an expedited manner that ensures the best interest of children are met. Oversight is provided for the placement plans and transition for children and youth who are unable to be reunified with their families of birth. Permanency of children outside of their own homes means that children are placed with an adoptive family, placed into long term foster care home, or prepared for independent living through other long term goals such as emancipation. Partnerships occur between placement providers and other professionals involved with these children to provide a comprehensive long-term permanent plan and network of resources for the children and their caretakers..Alamosa CountyIndividual & Family Life - Alamosa CountyAlamosa County
Adoption - Catholic Charities of Central Colorado (CCCC)Life Connections is a licensed, non-profit child placement agency with more than 40 years experience providing pregnancy, cradle care and adoption services. Catholic Charities is also accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). The staff offers an exceptional level of professional expertise and personal commitment to the adoption experience of our clients. We believe that every child deserves a loving, nurturing, permanent family. We want to place children in loving, stable families with sound values and moral principles. Catholic Charities is an advocate for open adoption, a form of adoption where the birth parents and adoptive parents are known to one another and have some form of an ongoing relationship. Children who know their birth parents appear to have a better understanding of themselves and don’t have the abandonment issues as some adoptees do in confidential adoptions. We believe that adoption is a life-long process and we remain a resource to our clients through the years. Catholic Charities is licensed by the Colorado Department of Human Services to conduct both domestic and international adoptions. Through a partnership with Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Charlotte, N.C., we can place children from Russia or China into Colorado adoptive homes.El Paso CountyIndividual & Family Life - Catholic Charities of Central ColoradoCatholic Charities of Central Colorado

Adoption Services-Expedited Permanency Planning ProgramThis program is designed for children ages 0-6 years who have been placed in foster or kinship care due to abuse or neglect. The initial permanency goal for children in out of home placement is reunification with birth parents. Concurrent planning is the case management approach that is utilized in these cases and is intended to provide an alternative permanent plan for the child in the event the child is unable to return home. Families who want to adopt through MCDHS are called permanency planning families. They are expected to support efforts toward reunification while at the same time are willing to make a lifelong commitment to the child should reunification not occur. Permanency families are willing to adopt the child if and when termination of parental rights occurs. They are prepared to transport a child to visits with birth family, medical or therapeutic appointments and are active participants in various staffing that could potentially involve contact with birth parents. Without permanency families many children might wait indefinitely for a family willing to provide a permanent, loving home.
