Description of Service
Colorado Works (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) provides financial assistance, job preparation, and work opportunities to families with children on a temporary basis, to achieve economic and family stability.
Complete an application online using PEAK. Or call or walk in to request an application by mail or in person.
Documentation that may be required:
- Social Security number for all household members
- Proof of Citizenship and Identification for all household members
- Proof of monthly income
- Proof of basic expenses, such as rent/mortgage, utility expenses
If not available, sign and submit an application and the Department will follow-up.
Colorado PEAK provides a questionnaire that will give people answers about whether or not they may qualify for benefits for programs that provide food assistance, cash assistance, WIC supplemental nutrition benefits, and other types of assistance. The MyCOBenefits app is available to individuals who receive SNAP, Colorado Works, and Adult Financial benefits and is available in both the Apple and Android app stores. The app allows users to access their benefit information, report changes, check EBT card balances and more.
