Description of ServiceEarly Childhood Council for Yuma, Washington and Kit Carson Counties. To provide a comprehensive, high quality, coordinated and accessible system of support for all children and families to ensure they are healthy and thriving.
Early Childhood Council Professional Developement

We offer professional development stipends to early childhood professionals continuing their Early Childhood Education. We require professionals who take advantage of the stipends to obtain an Early Childhood Credential through the Professional Development Information System (PDIS) Also, as a part of our professional development our quality improvement staff works with licensed early childhood professionals to increase the quality of their child care settings, by offering a variety of quality initiative tools and coaching.

Expanding Quality for Infants and Toddlers

The Expanding Quality in Infant Toddler Care (EQ) Initiative is a collaboration between the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care. Our primary goal is to increase the quality and availability of responsive care for infants and toddlers throughout Colorado by:

•Strengthening the skills and knowledge base of Early Childhood professionals working with infants and toddlers
•Building capacity and promoting systemic change to foster increased quality and availability of care and services
•Supporting leadership and collaboration at the community level
•Facilitating professional development for infant toddler professionals, particularly those who are teaching or coaching infant toddler teachers.

School Readiness Quality Improvement Project (SRQIP)
The purpose of the School Readiness Quality Improvement Project is to improve the school readiness of children 5 years of age and younger who are cared for at early care and education facilities located in neighborhoods with
eligible elementary schools.
Our qualifying Elementary School is Wray School District RE-2
Any licensed Child Care Provider in Wray is eligible for the School Readiness Quality Improvement Project

Our Colorado Shines Child Care Referral Partners:
Child Care Resource & Referrals (CCR&Rs) help families by providing referrals to child care, education about the quality and availability of care, and financial assistance information. Working within their communities, CCR&Rs identify early care and education needs, and they focus on enhancing the quality and availability of services through recruiting, training, and supporting child care providers.
