Description of Service
Provides emergency overnight shelter for men who are homeless or in need of shelter (including sex offenders). Specific services are available for men with histories of addiction or homelessness.
Also provides access and transportation to and from the Peoria overflow shelter. Individuals will board buses to the overflow shelter, beginning at 6 p.m. The last bus for overflow leaves at 10 p.m. Men will be transported back to the Lawrence Street Community Center for breakfast beginning at 6 a.m.

Call or walk in to sign up for the lottery between 5:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Lawrence St Community Center (2222 Lawrence St). All individuals for either the downtown shelter or Peoria overflow shelter must sign up for the lottery. Walk in at 1 p.m. to check the lottery results.
Individuals who do not receive a space in the lottery may begin lining up at 6 p.m. for transportation to the Peoria overflow shelter at 7 p.m. or may check in-person after 8 p.m. for an unclaimed space at the downtown shelter. Walk-ins will only be accepted at the downtown shelter, and only until 10 p.m. or whenever capacity is reached.
Photo IDs and TB cards are required; anyone who hasn't previously stayed at the Mission has a ten-day grace period to take the test and obtain the results. Clients who have stayed at the Mission before will only be permitted to stay again if they have a current TB card.
Documented service animals are accepted at the downtown shelter with current vaccinations and tags.
Bus transportation to the Peoria overflow shelter will also be provided from Salvation Army Crossroads (1901 29th St) starting at 6:30 p.m.
Men over the age of 18. LBGTQ individuals are welcome; gender is determined by the designation on state-issued identification cards.
