Description of Service
Provides cash assistance and work opportunities to needy families with children under 18 or over 18 who will graduate before their 19th birthday through Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
Call or walk in for an application. An appointment to review a completed application will be required.
Colorado PEAK provides a questionnaire that will give people answers about whether or not they may qualify for benefits for programs that provide food assistance, cash assistance, WIC supplemental nutrition benefits, and other types of assistance. The MyCOBenefits app is available to individuals who receive SNAP, Colorado Works, and Adult Financial benefits and is available in both the Apple and Android app stores. The app allows users to access their benefit information, report changes, check EBT card balances and more.
Individuals will be required to participate in a work-related activity; the required number of hours per week will be determined by the age of the children and if the household is one- or two-parent. Eligible work-related activities include (but must be approved):
- full-time employment
- part-time employment
- community service
- education programs
- job skills training program, job readiness program or job search.
If a parent under the age of 18, must attend high school or a GED program and live with parents or another approved adult.
