General Information
Description of ServiceProviding support services to grandparents raising grandchildren in Weld County. Legal referral and information, monthly support groups and educational workshops are offered to provide the tools needed in raising grandchildren and to improve quality of life.
Urgent Services ProvidedSupport Groups:
Legal Information, packets are mailed out upon request with Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program information and other available.
Resources related to care giving such as:
- United Way
- Weld County Kinship
- Weld County Department of
-Human Services
- Medicaid providers
- Catholic Charities
- Legal services,

Educational workshops are offered to provide the following:
- An opportunity to meet and socialize with other Grandparents
- Community agency resource information
-Presentations covering a variety of topics relating to parenting the “second time around”
- Refreshments and giveaways
-Legal nights and Call-A-Lawyer nights are available for grandparents who are in need of legal assistance on issues such as:
-Child custody
-Visitation issues
-Temporary power of attorney
-Services are offered through Weld County Legal Services.

Support groups allow grandparents and kin to share the difficulties and rewards in raising children and give encouragement to one another. Speakers are often scheduled to share information about their agencies and available programs.
