Description of ServiceTemporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is the Federal name for the program that is known in Colorado as Colorado Works.

Assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient and/or return to the work force as soon as possible. Collaboration with Employment Services and other community agencies provide immediate employment, training, and other support opportunities to individuals applying for or receiving TANF benefits. Provides temporary financial assistance to households with children.
Financial payments vary according to the size of the family and the income of the parents.
