The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a United States Department of Agriculture nutrition program and is administered by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The CACFP provides reimbursement to licensed child care professionals for nutritious meals and snacks served in child care homes and centers.
The goals of the CACFP are:
- To ensure that well balanced, nutritious meals are served to children in the child care setting.
- To help children learn to eat a wide variety of foods as part of a balanced diet.
- Provide reimbursement for meals served.
