Description of Service
Foster Care places at-rick children in caring, supportive foster families and provides resources to the foster families to promote successful and positive relationships.

Family Foster Care
Kinship Foster Care
A foster parent can be a single person or a couple. The important aspect of being a foster parent is that you have experience with children and you are willing to nurture and care for the children place in your home. Children placed in your home can be infants, preschool children, school age children and adolescents. Our agency provides educational, therapeutical, monetary and in-home support as children are placed in your home.
Adoption services also provided through the La Plata County Department of Human Services.

Emergency placement for at-risk children

Requirements:CBI / FBI criminal records check, child abuse registry check, CPR certification (both adults), First Aid certification (both adults), Per vaccinations, Water check if on a well, Physicians health certification, Autobiographical questionnaire, 3 references, Foster Parent questionnaire (helps determine which children are best suited for family), Foster Parent Core Training 12 hours (both adults), Ongoing Training 20 hours per year
