Home Weatherization Program:
The Home Weatherization Program is a service provided to lower income households with the goal of providing safe energy conservation repairs to effectively reduce utility consumption. The Program is funded through the
•U.S Department of Energy (DOE)
•Colorado Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
•XCEL Energy Corporation
•State of Colorado.
Eligibility is based primarily upon income, which is designed to incorporate those households considered to be the “working poor” as well as those families on fixed/limited income. This Program has the capacity to divert limited income away from utility bills to other needs of the home, thus helping support efforts for self-sufficiency.
Urgent Services Provided
Provides energy conservation repairs to reduce utility consumption for lower income households. Services may include:
- Improvements to attic insulation
- Wall insulation
- Floor insulation
- Building shell air leakage
- Furnace efficiency
- Safety repairs
- Gas leak repair
- Carbon monoxide eradication
- Moisture control
- Installation of compact fluorescents
- Refrigerator replacements

Call, walk in or print an application online. Applications must be completed and returned with required documentation.
The final determination of service provided to any specific dwelling (not including safety related repairs) is based on calculation of the potential energy savings versus the cost of providing the individual improvements under consideration.
Individuals who meet income guidelines. Individuals who receive benefits from a number of low-income assistance programs, such as LEAP, SSI, TANF and COAP, automatically qualify to receive Governor’s Energy Office Weatherization Program services.
