Description of Service
Provides free, voluntary, home visiting parent support for parents and caregivers with infants and children age five or younger.
- Free parenting support and education
- Free safety/childproofing supplies (safety gates, safety locks & latches for cabinets & drawers, corner cushions, anti-tip safety straps, stove knob and door knob covers, outlet covers; toilet locks, window blind cord wrap, locking medicine cases, gun locks)
- Free basic medical supplies (e.g. thermometer, first aid kits, medicine droppers/spoon tubes, diapers and wipes)
- Referrals for assistance with other family needs

Must live in La Plata, Archuleta, San Juan County or within the exterior boundaries of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. Open court-involved Child Protection cases are not eligible for services.
Must have a child five years old or younger.
Meet three of following risk characteristics: child with special needs, housing issues (instability, hazardous, etc.), multiple children age 5 or younger, receiving public assistance (WIC or Medicaid or TANF or SSI), single parent, stepfather or unrelated male caregiver in the home, any prior report to child welfare, parent/caregiver has childhood experience of abuse/neglect, violence in the home, parent/caregiver has less than high school education, mental health issue, substance use issue, or parent/caregiver is less than 20 years old.
