-Secondary Animal Shelter-Additional location established for animal sheltering at the Las Animas County Fair Grounds 2200 North Linden Avenue, Trinidad, Co (NOTE: DO NOT take animals to this location without first speaking with Carl Beeman)

LOST OR ABANDONED ANIMALS
Contact Mr. Carl Beeman, CSU Extension at 719-251-9911. Animals are being sheltered at the Huerfano County Fairgrounds. Please report animals in need of rescue.

LIVESTOCK EVACUATION
If you have livestock in the area West of Sheep Mountain (County Road 542), North of Highway 160 to Highway 69. The Incident Management Team has recommended that you evacuate livestock from these areas. Safety in this area is of concern at this time and due to fire weather forecast, fire activity is expected to increase.

There will be escorts for livestock owners from the Gardner Community Center 8am-12pm 7/8. You must coordinate this escort with Captain Lyons at 719-248-5555, prior to arriving at the Gardner Community Center .

If you choose to not evacuate your livestock, to enter the area to feed and water your livestock that was not evacuated, you will have to arrange an escort prior to entry. The escorts will only be available from 8am-12pm and are subject to change due to the weather and fire activity.
