Description of Service
Offers sessions on "Getting Ahead in a Just-Getting-By World" for individuals in poverty. This course provides a way to examine the impact that poverty has on individuals, families, and their communities. This course is offered twice a year consisting of 18 sessions, two per week for nine weeks. Classes are offered free of charge; dinner and childcare are provided to participants.

Call or visit the website for more information; clients are referred from Moffat County Department of Social Services. Applicants are interviewed and 14 - 16 individuals are chosen to be in the program.

If the individual has a history of mental health issues, a letter from a mental health professional stating that they are fit to participate is required.
Participants are given a $20 gift card as an incentive to attend each class.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Live in Moffat County and be at least 18 years old
- Do not currently have an alcohol or drug problem
- Households must be at 200% or below the Federal Poverty Level
- Must be willing and able to commit to attending class regularly
