Description of Service
Provides assistance to clients who can't afford to fix their furnace or boiler, if their home does not have heat and they have applied for the low-income energy assistance program (LEAP), the Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) can coordinate emergency furnace repair or replacement of heating systems. Service includes repair or replacement of failed furnaces or boilers.
CIP does not provide for maintenance and servicing of a heating system, including filter changes, cleaning, or lubricating.
This program is available throughout the year to those who have applied for LEAP during the current or most recent LEAP season.
Call the CRISIS INTERVENTION line to get help with repair or replacement of furnaces or heating systems. Clients MUST CALL agencies to which they are referred before walking in.
This program does not repair or replace air conditioners.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be residents of Colorado
- Primary heating source must not be working
- Have applied for and be approved for LEAP
More specific eligibility requirements may also exist.
