Description of Service
Provides free home improvements for low and moderate income households (owners and renters) in Denver and Jefferson counties. The improvements keep people warm and safe, add value to the homes, and reduce utility bills by 20 to 40 percent. When clients apply and are accepted into the program, they receive all of the services offered, which include:
- Furnace repair or replacement
- Adding insulation to walls/attics/crawlspaces
- Installing smoke/carbon monoxide detectors
- Replacing the refrigerator (if applicable)

Call, email, or mail to request an application or for more information. There is currently a waiting list, and it may take up to 30 days to process an application.
Individuals who qualify for the program which can take up to 30 days to accept the application for approval. An Energy Audit will be done first to see where this agency can help the client save energy and be safe. The program is funded by (DOE) Department of Energy, state of Colorado funds, community funding and contributions. This program does not provide emergency services, and normally any work from this program can start in as little as 30 days or could take up to a year to eventually get to the property depending on the current wait list at time of applying. Once clients participate in this program, they will not be eligible to apply again for 25 - 30 years.
Clients automatically income qualify if they participate in any of the following Health and Human Services programs: LEAP, TANF, SNAP, AND, OAP, or SSI (Supplemental Security Income). If clients don’t participate in any of these programs, they may income qualify by providing three months of pay stubs/income statements with their application.
