Description of Service
Provides shelter for single women and transgender individuals at a participating rotating location each night. Women are screened for special needs that the church volunteers may or may not be able to accommodate.
Limited, call for specific information
Individuals must sign up for the shelter in person or by phone before 8:15 a.m. 7 days a week at St Francis Center. The lottery will be held at 8:15 a.m., and individuals may sign up for the wait list after the lottery is held. The lottery list will be available by 9:30 a.m. Women must check-in at St Francis Center by 5 p.m., and any openings will be filled from the wait list at 5:30 p.m. Women will be transported by van to the church that is offering overnight housing on that particular night and picked up at 7 a.m. the following morning and transported back to St. Francis Center. Walk-ups at the church locations are not accepted.
Only service animals are accepted. Owners must be able to address what service the animal provides and demonstrate that the animal's vaccinations are up-to-date (i.e., current tags).
Homeless single women and transgender individuals over 18 years old; gender is determined by self-identification.
