Description of Program
The Association for Children with Disabilities (ACD) serving Morgan County is a non-profit organization that has been serving residents of Morgan County for 37 years. Children with disabilities,their parents, family members, and professionals rely upon ACD to improve quality of life for children with disabilities, and to strengthen and support their families.
The important work of the ACD includes sharing valuable information pertaining to disabilities, making referrals, and sponsoring special events.
The ACD also provides vital financial assistance to children, families, and professionals for special equipment, camps, conferences, student activities, and evaluations.
To receive assistance a request for funds form needs to be obtained by calling the number above, or emailing the contact. Complete the request and send to the P.O. Box address. The board meets once a month to discuss request. We might invite the person making the request to our meeting if we have questions or need clarifications. Recipients off financial assistance will contacted either by phone or mail.
Children must have a disability as according to the Rules for the Exceptional Children Educational Act. (ECEA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement ACT (IDEA).
