RestorativeJustice (RJ) Program

General Information
Description of ProgramThis program diverts first time juvenile offenders from the traditional court process. RJ allows juvenile participants the opportunity to take resposibility for their actions through a discussion with their parents, victims, and community volunteers. Through this process, the group is able to explore the harm that was caused as a result of the juvenile's poor choice. All participants develop creative solutions to the crime. Volunteers assist victims in moving toward healing and also represent the community and what are viewed acceptable standards of behavior. There are opportunities to be trained in Restorative Justice practices and become a volunteer with the program. If your are interested please contact the Restorative Justice Program.
