General Information
Description of ProgramAfter school and summer youth development programming for youth ages 6-18. Highly trained youth development professionals facilitate age-appropriate, national recognized, and tested programming in the following areas:
CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT- empowers youth to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and other's cultural identities.
EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT- enables youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines and apply that learning to achieve success in their future educational and career endeavors.
HEALTH AND LIFE SKILLS- develops young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self- sufficient adults.
THE ARTS- enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
SPORTS, FITNESS AND RECREATION- develops fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, teamwork, appreciation for the environment and social skills.
SPECIALIZED INITIATIVES- these programs range in focus and target specific community and Club needs (e.g. school and summer food/nutrition assistance programs, assistance with Medicaid and CHP+ enrollment).
