Provides temporary (up to 60 days) emergency shelter for homeless families.
Additional services while at the shelter include:
- Weekly case management
- Life skills classes
- Referrals and information
- Temporary, basic necessities such as food, diapers, hygiene items, etc.
While living at the shelter, families prepare their own meals and share household chores. Each family has its own bedroom with a full bath. Families work with an adult and a child/youth case manager weekly throughout their stay and develop goals through a self-sufficiency plan. The primary goals for our families is finding employment (if not already employed ) or enrolling full-time in educational or training programs, and finding permanent affordable housing before leaving the shelter.
Upon leaving the shelter, families begin our two-year follow-up Case Management program. In that program families receive:
- Transitional housing support through monthly meetings with the case manager
- Referrals to resources
- Advocacy support
- Budget monitoring
