Serves as the online health insurance marketplace for Colorado individuals, families and small employers. Individuals and families may shop for new insurance during the open enrollment period each year, or change their insurance if they have a qualifying life event. Employers may shop for insurance year-round. Vision and dental insurance may be purchased by anyone year-round. Assistance is available by phone and in-person at sites across the state.
To increase access, affordability and choice for individuals and small
employers looking to purchase health insurance in Colorado and to provide a simpler and smarter shopping experience.
Connect for Health Colorado stems from a legislative bill passed in 2011, SB 11-200, which was developed with the idea that Colorado should create a new service that will increase competition and choice in the marketplace for the benefit of individuals, families and small employers across Colorado. Start-up funding comes from the federal level, and not the state.
