As a memorial to World War II veterans, farmers and Burlington Rotary raised money to establish the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital (KCCMH) in Burlington, Colorado.
KCCMH was completed in 1948 and took root and grew into the comprehensive health network it is today, Kit Carson County Health Service District (KCCHSD).
KCCMH is a 19 bed Critical Access Hospital with a Swing bed unit, acute care, obstetrics and a 24-hour Emergency Room classified as a Trauma Level IV facility.
KCCHSD also has two rural health clinics a rehabilitation clinic, a specialty clinic and a Home Health and Caring Hands Hospice
The Kit Carson County Health Service District intends to provide state of the art, quality health services that will give the regional community both the opportunity and the desire to receive care and treatment locally. It is our intent to deliver these services with utmost safety, honesty, and integrity.
Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital’s mission to be the trusted provider of rural health care services can be traced back to 1946 when the Burlington Rotary and community members dedicated time, money, and volunteer hours towards building a county hospital in Burlington, Colorado.
